About Kings Forest

The master-planned community of Kingwood was first established in 1971 by Friendswood Development Company, a subsidiary of Exxon. It is the largest master-planned community in Harris County. Your home is in one of Kingwood’s original villages. In fact, Kings Forest was originally the very back of our town. Construction on Section 1 began in 1972, Section 2 was added in 1976, Section 3 in 1978 and Section 5 in 1989. Kings Forest was the first village to feature large lots.

Our village has several characteristics that set it apart. Kings Forest accurately reflects Kingwood’s nickname “the livable forest.” The many mature loblolly pines and deciduous shade trees give our neighborhood the appearance of homes nestled in the woods. Per agreements with Friendswood Development Company, home builders took great care to preserve as many trees as possible as the neighborhood was constructed. The large houses on expansive wooded lots give each home an element of privacy. Kings Forest is the only village in Kingwood designed without curbs or sidewalks. This concept was based on the Memorial area in Houston.

Although many Kings Forest homes have their own swimming pools, the village does have a community pool and meeting/party room located at at 2615 Woods Estates. Both the pool and the meeting room are available for residents to rent.

The winding greenbelt trails provide an opportunity for walkers, joggers, and bike riders to enjoy the forest.

Kings Forest is zoned for Bear Branch Elementary School, Kingwood Middle School, and either Kingwood Park High School or Kingwood High School. Instructions for enrolling your child and information on schools are available at the Humble ISD website:
